Bobby Fischer KO's Benko with the Sozin Attack
Featured here is an excellent chess game between Bobby Fischer and Pal Benko from the 1959 Candidates Tournament. Fischer plays the Sozin Attack, and Benko responds with 6...Qb6, the Anti-Fischer-Sozin variation. After Fischer creates a pawn duo with f4, many kingside attacking ideas become available to him.

Carlsen blitzes Shirov at 2007 World Championship
Переглядів 12 тис.16 годин тому
Featured is the chess game between Magnus Carlsen and Alexey Shirov from the 2007 World Blitz Chess Championship. Carlsen's play appears almost effortless out of a Ruy Lopez with 9.Bg5. Shirov's immediate response to Carlsen's 9th move is to break the pin, which creates many weaknesses in the process. The most vulnerable square, f5, captures Carlsen's attention. His simple yet effective plan fr...

Deep Fritz won the match with 4 points, comprised of 2 wins and 4 draws. Game 2 of their match is highlighted, showcasing several positional ideas. Kramnik's final move turned out to be an extreme blunder in an otherwise model-like...
Mikhail Tal crushes with the Benoni in 23 moves

Featured is the sharp chess miniature between Janis Mileika and 16-year-old Mikhail Tal from the 1953 Latvian Chess Championship. The young Mikhail Tal adopts the Benoni Defense and seizes the opportunity to exploit Janis Mileika's unconventional 4th move. Tal's energetic response prompts an immediate sub-optimal reply, and by move 9, a decisive position is already reached. #MikhailTal #BenoniD...

Featured is the instructive chess game between 14-year-old Bobby Fischer and William Addison from the 1957 United States Open. The opening is a Caro-Kann Defense, Two Knights Attack, where after only 8 moves we observe pawn majorities and an endgame phase. Watch how the young Fischer activates his "healthy" queenside majority, and essentially simplifies the endgame as if only kings and pawns re...

Featured is the Fischer Random chess game (25 10) between Gukesh D and Ding Liren from the 2024 Freestyle Chess G.O.A.T. Challenge. Carlsen crushes AGGRESSIVE PAWN PLAY
The idea that GMs can predict all of these 10+ moves ahead is crazy.
★★★★★★☆
what slightly bothers me is the commentary over fischer's shoulder.. yes of course lets look how we can help the stronger player. the other one is the enemy so we dont care about his moves.... only the souless computer can look in that direction, but we dont care about that anyway. why would we analyze black moves, so little time and so little interest in white's
For sure there is a focus primarily on the side who wins. There are certainly more thorough approaches to covering a game, resulting in significantly lengthier videos. I prefer to keep game review videos somewhat bite-sized. On the other side of the coin there’s an audience out there who would prefer I “just show the moves of the game”. 😎 Thanks for watching. 👍
Did Bobby ever played D4 in his chess career?????
E4 best by test
g6 is not perfect way queen takes on e5 check and free rook
Is Qxe5 safe?
I can't relate to the people who fall asleep to these videos I'm always too busy enjoying them and taking a thing or two away
You're totally right
B5 was the first idea that came to my mind. Seems I think a little Tal-ish. Lack the strength though 😉
Hey Jerry, you might see this comment, but I was wondering if you've ever played a game of shogi?
Nope, I never played Shogi. I’m assuming you play?
GM Ben Finegold just had a 1959 Candidates lecture. Nice!
Great!
Thx for sharing this great game!
Good work bud
Rook d1 is so hard to play in this position and calculate all variations. Such a nice, calm move. This is why Fisher is the best ever. So nice, so simple, every move with the purpose.... Excellent game and lesson for us mortals.. ;-)
Hi Jerry.
👋
Nice game and well done! Thanks!
More Fischer games!
Chess Network fans are eating good right now
We’re feasting.

I watched the game live... Great game and great video, as always.
Hi Jerry
Hi 👋
97% accuracy in such a game is mind boggling.
Kramnik soon to accuse Fischer of using an engine
@@adawg853 As we all know: Americans invented first microchips.
Awesome game; thanks, Jerry! More rook lifts and putting my bishops on the long diagonals are two things I"m going to do more of.
Eight minute video squeezed into eighteen minutes
pirc is such a beautiful opening
Only the avatar can stop him now
lol beat me to it
Fischer is out of this world.
I was in a car accident at an intersection 12 years ago. My mom and my brother both went to the hospital and my brother passed away due to cysts in his brain. Jerry , I love you but that reference was not it ☹️
what a beautiful story
It’s unfortunate that that happened to you, but he isn’t here to coddle your feelings
Anyone can take offense to any reference. Does that mean he shouldn't be allowed to speak? What if some kid choked on a chess piece? Should all chess videos therefore be banned? Get real.
@isaact.5136 sorry man, but this is the Internet. Nobody’s here to be mean to or scary. We just like chess. You might want to see a therapist but definitely don’t make comments like you did here and expect sympathy. You could be a bot for all we know.
My wife says she prefers Jerry's voice to mine as a lulluby to fall asleep. But me too! I also prefer Jerry's voice.
😂
Jerry!
thx Jerry
thx Jerry 😊
Step 1: Like Video Step 2: Pretend to learn something but actually fall asleep Step 3: Wake up, Neo, now you know kung fu
Pawn quad is ultimate humiliation 😂
In the game, 19. Nh5 was played. But why couldn't Fischer go for 19. Nf5 again, to freeze the f6 pawn, just as you showed in the other variation?
The queen from h6 doesn’t guard against the eventual Bf5 defense.
8:05 "this is as far as im going to take it" *proceeds to make three more moves
Didn't know the Fire Nation had their own variation. Roku didn't know what hit him!
thx Jerry 😊
That car accident analogy is perfect for describing squares w/ a lot of tension. Thx for the video, Jerry!
Thank you for another excellent analysis. I've been attempting/efforting at chess for over 60 years. Gosh I wish you were doing your excellent work when I was 12, "I coulda been a contender." (Apologies to Marlon Brando and On the Waterfront). I always gain something from my visits to Chess Network and for that you have my gratitude! Peter
Hah! I've said that to myself too many times to remember. Seeing videos by Jerry >>> all the chess books I've ever read.
Excellent metaphors or whatever. Jerry is so precise with his words, unlike me, that he speaks as if reading aloud. I like it.
👍😎
quad f&* pawns
I'm a simple man. I see Jerry posts. I see Fischer in thumbnail. I watch. I like
I agree!
Hi Jerry, it's everyone ❤ Take care, bye 😁
☺️
please make more videos about fischer games🤍
YES
Hey Jerry, thank you for your amazing analysis and effort. Most underrated channel I swear to God.
Thank you for the compliment. 👍
2nd!!!
First. Love it, amazing analysis. Thanks Gary ❤
Tried watching but you talk way to much shite
Wow....I'm here in 2024
Ironic! Kasparov loses on time. And Tal dies at 55 - losing on time!
